Mob Lead

Post by Arleve »

Any thoughts on giving mob lead for Masters in various clans? I know it was being discussed some time ago.

Our Green Ajah Mob Head asks if we want her to arrange a warder to escort us or something or has that as an offer to issue but I don't think at works or at least I don't know that anyone's used it. And obviously there are the mercs that you can hire.

For Aes Sedai, it'd be nice if you could lead guards outside the city and lead Aes Sedai inside the Tower, if you are of higher "rank" than they. It'd be great if they prepared to link with you as well.

I dunno..I think your code announcement Niila was talking more about horselead and such but I thought I'd bring up this topic.

Most military clan allow their members to start using leadable mobs at some point. However, it's up to the clan immortal and clan masters of the clan to decide wether a clan gets leadable mobs or not (I don't see why any clan immortal wouldn't give their military clans leadable mobs, since some even play an integral part in the clans functions..).

In the case of White Tower and Warder Students, they don't have leadable mobs right now as far as I can tell. This has been, for most reason, in the past due to their specialties (higher circle for WS, channeling for White Tower) to create and maintain balance between different clans with extra perks. It's likely that Warder Students might get a similiar system as military clans, where they have to train up their leadable mobs and get merit according to the progress of their students..

As to the White Tower, from an RP view, it would make sense that Aes Sedai would be able to command and boss around those who stand below them. But in terms of game balance, it would be giving too much power to a single clan, even if the clan in question would be The White Tower. Imagine walking in tow with two Aes Sedai, who burn everything to crisp, while you can do the same too.. :)

More discussion required.

It's been available to most military clans since I started here years ago. Leading and training mobs is part of the military clan dispatch system designed originally by Tular.
I've added it to all military clans active enough to warrant it including Dark Side.

As far as the Tower, I agree with Niila. Damaging to game balance.

Well, I've spent all my clanned time on this character so I wasn't familiar with the ability of military clans to do this already.

And to an extent, I certainly see your point(s). But I think it's reasonable that Aes Sedai should be able to lead other Aes Sedai while within the Tower itself and regular Guards within the city of Tar Valon.

Outside the Tower, I can rent Mercenaries and bring them with me already. So essentially what I'm suggesting is that with the Tower, I be able to get that as a clan rank bonus like other masters.

There'd be no difference in what I can already do and money is certainly no issue for Arleve. But I think generally it would make more sense from a RP standpoint that Aes Sedai bring out Guardsmen (of the same lvl/power of the Mercs), than it does to hire people from seedy bars.
