These seem to slow down the loading of pages. They're cute and all but I'm not sure they really add to the atmosphere of Wheel of Time and if they slow things down too...
Is there a way to disable them individually if not Forum-wide?

I think I can disable them just for you. I'll try it, let me know if it helps or not.
Just so you know though, the smilies are all or nothing, I can't just turn off the animated ones. I'm only turning them off for this account so you can see if it makes a difference or not.

Kay, tks. It says on but I just saw that I can disable them when I post. I suppose it's the little animated guys on the left that is slowing me down, offering the choice of smilies. It doesn't look like that can be gotten around.
